The famous Grammy Award winner singer, Diane Reeves offers a magnificent concert for the jazz lovers on the 10th of May in Debrecen`s Kolcsey Centre. Quests can enjoy a variety of new songs and can also hear the classics:
Loving You, Just my Imagination and Midnight Sun. This concert will be the only one in Hungary in her tour. Dianne Reeves is considered one of the most important contemporary jazz singers. Now she lives in Denver, Colorado. She was born 23 October 1956 in the USA. Her parents were musicians too. Her father was a singer and the mother played trumpet. She took piano lessons from early age and decided to be a singer when she was 11. Her uncle introduced her to the jazz singers like Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. She moved to LA and was influenced by the Latin-American music and toured with Sergio Mendes in the early eighties. Couple of years later she had her first experiences with world music. In 1992 she moved back to Denver. The peak of her career was in 2002 when she sang at the closing ceremony of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. She won 4 Grammy Awards for "Best Jazz Vocal Performance" in 2001, 2002,2003 (the only singer who won for three consecutive years) and in 2006. She is touring with her latest album "When You Know".
From the end of February 2010 she started a world tour. After concerts in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and USA the hungarian jazz lovers got the chance to enjoy her magnificent special voice.
